Miles Today: 84 Total Miles: 1,450 Terrain: Extremely Hilly
Temps: Cold rising to 57 f. Time: 8 hrs 40 min
The day started with cold temps, overcast skies, and steady north wind. Still on minor roads with minimal traffic, but rough surface with no shoulder persisted. Did I say hills?! Yes they also were featured for the second straight day.
Texas West Country Roads!
We also met a stray bull on the road, but as Don was wearing green, this didn't present a problem.
We had lunch in the tiny town of Leakey (pop 387) at the Feed Lot! Wood burning stoves added to our enjoyment and the warmth was very welcome.
Fifty-six miles still to go today, so back on the road, passing some vast ranches en route. After several crossings of the Guadalupe River, and more of the West Texas hills, we eventually arrived in Ingram, where we opted for the comfort and convenience of a motel room. Consequently, we are now fully up to date with blog postings.
Guadalupe River
Tomorrow we head for Blanco, TX where we plan to overnight with a Young Life host family.
Yours on the Road,
Don and Penny

I love the Leaky Feed Lot pictures!!!
I'm glad to hear that Don and the bull didn't come to "blows". Keep the news coming.
Hugs.....Carolyn
Wow. That IS hilly!
Hey, Don and Penny -
Roy and I are really enjoying 'being along on the ride' with you! How interesting to see all the different places you've encountered. (My legs hurt just looking at those hills though!) Please keep up the postings and know we're all sending best wishes to you both for your journey.
Love, R & J
This is great. By my map you are officially in east Texas. Must be half way. Keep it going
